Operator terms · version 2026-09-27
The deal
OPtrust is free for operators. You accept these terms when you create an account. They exist to keep the network honest, because a trust score is only worth something if the people on it play straight.
- One person, one account. You register as yourself, with your real service record. Duplicate, shared, or fake accounts get removed, and their vouches come out of the graph.
- Vouch honestly. First pick, Solid, or Pass means what you actually think of someone you actually worked with. Trading vouches, rating people you never served with, or organizing rings to inflate scores gets the whole ring removed. The scoring is built to catch it.
- Your record is yours and true. What you claim (units, dates, skills, clearance) is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Uploading someone else’s DD214, or an altered one, ends the account.
- OPSEC. Don’t put classified information, operational details, or anything that would identify a current sensitive assignment in your profile, notes, or postings. Unit names and dates at the level of a DD214 are fine. If in doubt, leave it out; we’ll pull it if we see it.
- Invites. Invite people you’d vouch for. We keep track of who invited whom. Don’t sell invite links or post them publicly.
- Employers. Employers see you anonymously until you accept a connection. Once you accept, the employer has your name and email and the relationship is between you and them. OPtrust is not your agent, does not negotiate for you, and takes nothing from you.
- The score. Your tier and score come from the vouches in the network, not from us. They can go down as well as up. We don’t hand-adjust scores, except to remove fraud.
- Your data. Handled as described in the privacy notice. You can leave at any time by emailing privacy@optrust.me.
- Removal. We can deactivate an account that breaks these terms. You’ll be told why, and you can reply. Vouches from a removed account come out of the graph.
- No guarantees. OPtrust is a tool, not a promise of work. We work hard to keep it up and accurate, but we can’t promise you a job, and what an employer does after you accept a connection is between you and them.
- Changes. If these terms change in a way that affects you, we’ll do our best to email every account before the change takes effect.
